Jodie Wallis tells her story about her career progression through care

I started my career with Complete Care Agency in 2011 at the age of 18, after gaining my Level 3 Health & Social in college. I always knew that I wanted a career in care and really enjoyed helping and caring for people by applying my caring and compassionate nature into looking after patients in their own homes. I knew starting my career with Complete Care Agency as a homecare/health care assistant would help me to gain the experience and to develop the skills needed for my career in care going forward.

After working full time and developing my experience at Complete Care Agency for 3 years, this enabled me by way of experience to further my career with the NHS. There I gained my new role as a Clinical Support Worker within renal, during my time whilst I was working on the ward, I continued to work bank/agency for Complete Care for a further 2 and a half years, which enabled to me to save and work hard to buy my first home at 22.

I then went onto accrue further experience and gained my most recent role as a Senior Clinical Support, remaining within Renal but changing departments, which helped me recognise more of a senior role, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I am now 27 and after nearly 10 years’ experience in care, I am starting my goal within to pursue my nursing career within the NHS Trust. I will always be greatly appreciative of the opportunity I was given by Complete Care Agency and very much enjoyed my time working with the team over the years.
